A new CNC machining center V 11 L in use
Hans Ter Weeme, owner of the Ter Weeme model workshop in Vaassen, talks about his initial experiences with the new V11L machining center from PRIMINER. The workshop is located near Apeldoorn and specializes in the production of foundry models.
The company is a family business founded by Hans' father after working in a nearby iron foundry.
Tradition meets modern technology
The model workshop has evolved over the years. Today, it not only produces foundry models, but also vacuum, travel, and foam molds. The workshop also produces scale models of ships, which are used in wind tunnels to simulate the stability, maneuverability, and safety of the vessel under realistic conditions. Such tests help optimize the design and identify potential problems early on.
"My father, who founded the company and worked at the volcano, is here near the iron foundry and then started his own foundry to make foundry patterns."
Decision for the V11L machining center
Hans reports that the workshop recently needed to service and upgrade its machines. After thorough research and a visit to the PRIMINER website, they chose the V11L machining center, which was ideally suited to their needs. " We looked at the demo model and were immediately impressed ," says Hans. " The machine seemed robust, the Siemens control system was user-friendly, and we felt like nothing could go wrong. "
First experiences with the new machine
Hans particularly emphasizes the inline spindle, which operates very quietly. Compared to the old machine, the new one runs more smoothly and is much more precise. " You notice the difference immediately ," he says. " With the optimal settings in our CAD/CAM program, even the smallest machining steps are executed smoothly. "
Satisfaction with PRIMINER
The workshop had previously had a PRIMINER machine, and this time, too, all expectations were met. " The delivery went smoothly, the commissioning was seamless, and we are very satisfied, " summarizes Hans. The V11L machining center represents a significant asset for the Ter Weeme model workshop, helping them continue to produce precise models for their customers.
